My name is Adam Lornitzo, and I have been a licensed Architect in the State of Vermont since 2020. Born in Vermont, I graduated from Oxbow High School and River Bend Career & Technical Center in 2000. At River Bend I studied pre-engineering, which led to a work study at UK Architects in Hanover NH (now MA+KE Architects). After graduating High School I moved to Colorado and earned my undergraduate degree in Architecture at CU Boulder in 2007, which included a study in Italy.
After Colorado I moved to Mississippi with my wife where I started my architectural career at EGH Architects. The Gulf Coast was still heavily damaged from Hurricane Katrina at this time and I was involved in public projects including schools & universities as well as civic and cultural projects.
In 2011 I started my graduate work at Lawrence Technological University (LTU), one of the first accredited online architectural programs in the country. This program was immersed in digital design and communication, where we studied collaboratively with peers from around the world, offering a diverse perspective on the built environment.
In 2012 I moved back to Vermont where I purchased the house I grew up in, and have been continually renovating since. Back in the upper valley, while continuing to work on my graduate degree I worked again for UK Architects and also did freelance design work.
After graduating from LTU, in 2016 I transitioned to Banwell Architects in Lebanon, NH. At Banwell I worked primarily on public schools and healthcare projects, working with fixed budgets and schedules to find creative solutions. In 2020 I completed my architectural licensing exams and have been a registered architect in Vermont since.
Since 2021 I have partnered with Seth Westbrook at Hillside Designworks on single family residential design projects in the Woodstock Vermont area. This work is highly detailed and focused on the craft of custom construction and integration with our Vermont culture and landscape.
In 2025 we started Riverside Designworks, a sister company to Hillside Designworks focusing on commercial construction housing for lower/middle income single and multi-families to do our part to part of the solution to the housing shortage in Vermont.
